about uylf

up your legs forever was created to fill a gap in the netlabel community.  while there are hundreds of netlabels offering music in every imaginable style, there are no netlabels specifically conceived with the purpose of bringing you catchy songs.

this site, and the releases we will feature, are a celebration of the pop hook in all its forms.  every release on uylf strives to be immediate, infectious and indelible.

our artists come from different countries.  they play different instruments.  they work in different genres.  but they have one thing in common: they all want to hook you, so you'll come back for more.

all of our releases are available for free download in mp3.  some artists may also be offering physical copies of their works for sale on the release pages.

currently, we have no release timetable.  once submissions start coming in on a regular basis, we hope to put out a new EP/album monthly or bi-weekly. if you're a musician/songwriter, you can help make that happen!  (see submissions below)

the best way to keep up to date with uylf releases as they become available is to follow us on twitter.

we also have a podcast where we'll feature one song each week that we think you need to hear.

uylf is run by a team based in winnipeg, canada.  for all enquiries, email iq@upyourlegsforever.com

the site name

up your legs forever takes its name from a film made by john and yoko in the 70s that featured over an hour of... legs.  read about it here or watch a youtube video that claims to be an outtake, but features body parts other than legs...

it's also the name of a song by his name is alive, from their brilliant 1998 album ft. lake.

the tipjar

all of our music is offered free, but it does cost us money and time to keep uylf online.  if you enjoy what you hear and would like to help us out, please click the donate button below to send us some pocket change via paypal.  any amount is appreciated.

for any donations of $10 CDN or more, we will mail you a set of 4 one-inch uylf pins as a special thanks.  aren't they sexy?

alternatively, if you'd like to support the individual artists, click on over to their respective bio pages. many of our artists have links to their websites, where you can purchase merch from them directly.
